Cookie Policy

Last updated: June 2026

Cookies are small text files that a website saves on your device while you browse. They let the site remember things like whether you are signed in, what language you chose, or which theme you prefer. Some cookies last only until you close the tab; others stay for days or months. Vunolin also uses similar technologies such as localStorage and sessionStorage, and we treat them under the same rules as cookies here.

Cookies we use

We group cookies into three categories. Strictly necessary cookies are always on; you cannot use Vunolin without them, and by using the service you are considered to have accepted them. The other categories you manage through the cookie banner on your first visit, or anytime from the cookie manager in the website footer.

Strictly necessary. These cookies keep you signed in, remember your language and theme, and protect the site from abuse. They cover sign-in authentication, your saved language and theme preferences, and short-lived security tokens that block fraudulent or automated requests. We rely on these without asking for consent, because the service does not work without them.

Functional. These remember small preferences that make the experience nicer: which course you were last looking at, whether the cookie banner has been seen, whether you dismissed an onboarding tip. None of them are required to use Vunolin; they only save you from re-entering choices. You can refuse them and the site still works.

Analytics. These help us understand which features are used, where the experience is broken, and how to make it faster. We aggregate the data; we are not interested in any single person's clicks. Analytics cookies stay on as part of running and improving the service, so they are not an optional choice.

Third-party cookies

A few cookies are set by services we rely on rather than by us directly. Paddle sets a cookie on the checkout page for fraud detection and to remember the session. Google Fonts loads typefaces and may set a cache header. Our analytics provider sets a cookie to count unique visitors. Each of these providers has its own privacy notice, linked from this page when relevant.

Your choices

On your first visit you see a cookie banner. Strictly necessary, analytics and marketing-measurement cookies are required to run and improve the service, so they always stay on. The only optional category is personalised marketing, which you can accept or decline. You can accept all, decline the optional one, or open the manager to choose.

You can change your mind at any time from the cookie manager in the website footer. We honour your choice straight away, and a refused category does not come back without you turning it on again.

You can also block cookies in your browser settings. Most browsers explain how to do this under "Privacy" or "Cookies" in preferences. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will sign you out and may prevent the site from loading properly.

Do Not Track and consent withdrawal

Browsers offer a Do Not Track signal. Standards bodies never agreed on what it formally means, so most sites ignore it. We do not. If your browser sends Do Not Track, we treat it as a refusal of personalised marketing cookies until you say otherwise. You can still withdraw consent for the optional cookie at any time using the steps in the previous section.

Changes and contact

If we add new cookies or new vendors, we will update this page and refresh the consent banner so you can review your choices. For questions about this policy or about a specific cookie, reach us through our contact page.
